Main Purpose of Role

To negotiate and exchange option and lease agreements with landowners in order to deliver upon Apatura’s pipeline of energy storage projects across the UK.

Key Tasks & Accountabilities

  • Conducting initial title reviews for potential locations of projects
  • Providing advice to the land team as they negotiate heads of terms with landowners
  • Drafting and negotiating option agreements and leases, and wayleaves/servitudes, with landowner’s solicitors
  • Completing detailed reports on title
  • Providing weekly status reports for ongoing projects to internal stakeholders
  • Updating Apatura’s internal project management system on an ongoing basis
  • Assisting the Legal Counsel with the legal aspects of the financing and sale of parts of Apatura’s portfolio of projects

Role Requirements

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Good organisational and time management skills with ability to prioritise competing demands and priorities
  • Ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team

Knowledge & Experience

  • At least 2 years PQE in Scottish real estate law
  • Demonstrable renewable energy experience, ideally in the energy storage sector
  • Experience in planning law would be desirable.

Academic & Professional Qualifications

  • Qualified as a solicitor in Scotland
  • English qualification desirable
